The efficiency of Sputnik V according to the data analysis of 3.8 million vaccinated Russians amounted to 97.6%, according to the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

Currently, in Russia, within the framework of the Unified State Information System in the Field of Health (EGISZ), the Ministry of Health of Russia maintains a register of persons who have been vaccinated, as well as citizens who have contracted coronavirus.

“According to vaccination data, 3.8 million Russians, fully vaccinated by both components from December 5, 2020 to March 31, 2021 as part of the mass civilian vaccination program, the incidence starting from day 35 from the date of the first injection was only 0.027%,” the fund said.

At the same time, the incidence among the unvaccinated adult population for a comparable period from the 35th day after the launch of mass civilian vaccination was 1.1%.

Vaccine efficacy data and calculations will be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal in May this year.

“The real effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine may be even higher than the existing results of our analysis demonstrate, since data from the disease record system allow a time lag between sampling (the real date of the disease) and diagnosis. Thus, Sputnik V once again confirmed its high effectiveness for the prevention of coronavirus infection, “said Alexander Ginzburg, CEO of the Hamalei Research Center.

The Sputnik V vaccine is registered in 60 countries with a total population of 3 billion people. In terms of the number of approvals received by state regulators, Sputnik V ranks second in the world.

Sputnik V vaccine is approved in Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, Hungary, UAE, Iran, Republic of Guinea, Tunisia, Armenia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Republika Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Lebanon, Myanmar, Pakistan, Mongolia, Bahrain, Montenegro, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Gabon, San Marino, Ghana, Syria, Kyrgyzstan, Guyana, Egypt, Honduras, Guatemala, Moldova, Slovakia, Angola, Djibouti, Republic of the Congo, Sri Lanka, Laos, Iraq, North Macedonia, Kenya, Morocco, Jordan, Namibia, Azerbaijan, Philippines, Cameroon, Seychelles, Mauritius, Vietnam, Antigua and Barbuda, Mali, Panama and India.
