Foreign pharmaceutical companies have not submitted requests for early termination of clinical trials of their medicines in the Russian Federation. This was reported to TASS by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

“Clinical trials of medicines in our country continue in accordance with the protocols. At the moment, there have been no requests from foreign pharmaceutical companies for early termination of ongoing clinical trials,” the ministry said.

According to the Ministry of Health, the submission and acceptance of applications for clinical trials, as well as the issuance of permits for the import into the Russian Federation of a specific batch of medicines registered or unregistered in the country and intended for clinical trials, proceed as usual.

Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper reported, referring to representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, that Russian researchers had difficulties in conducting clinical trials of new foreign drugs that were planned to be released to the domestic market.

American Eli Lilly suspends investments, drugs promotion, new clinical trials in Russia, as well as “the export of non-essential medicines to the country.” This is stated in the official statement of the company posted on its website.
