On Wednesday, April 27, the head of Roszdravnadzor, Alla Samoilova, during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, said that the agency guarantees quality control of medicines that will be imported into the territory of the Russian Federation.

“We guarantee that no medicinal product will be admitted to the Russian market without passing quality control,” the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers quotes Samoylova as saying.

According to her, Roszdravnadzor controls all medicines. The service has a network of 13 laboratory complexes throughout the country that have a full range of laboratory tests to confirm the quality of all drugs in circulation on the market.

As the press service of the government reported, the agency monitors the shipments of medicines to medical institutions and pharmacies in a timely manner. Thanks to the medicines movement monitoring system, it is possible to obtain complete information about the quantity of each specific drug in the regions.

As Alla Samoilova stressed, the disruption of supplies of a number of medicines that occurred in March has now been eliminated. “We already see that almost all of these drugs, which were in high demand in March, are now available in sufficient quantities in almost all regions and in all pharmacies,” she said.

According to Mikhail Mishustin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Russia’s strategic task is to organize local production of the drugs which are now only available as imports from other countries. At the same time, it is necessary to support bona fide suppliers.
