The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) reported on the results of monitoring of veterinary medicinal products of Russian and foreign production which have approval for circulation in Russia. From January to July 2023, a remarkable number of 524 samples were diligently collected. However, out of this vast collection, a mere 48 displayed troubling irregularities related to both their quality and labeling.

According to the report, a staggering 91% of drugs, both foreign and Russian-made, have successfully met the stringent quality standards. It is clarified that in case of detection of violations in the batch, the drugs are not allowed for circulation. The predominant cause of non-compliance with requirements can usually be traced back to a breakdown in the production’s quality control system, along with a negligence of proper storage and transportation measures.
