According to Denis Manturov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the establishment of a comprehensive traceability system for drugs is crucial in collaborative fight against counterfeiting. In order to effectively address this matter, it is crucial for the countries within the Eurasian Economic Union to actively collaborate and strive towards the reciprocal recognition of product markings.
Manturov highlighted the significance of this, particularly considering the continuous expansion of bilateral trade between the EAEU countries. “By the conclusion of the previous year, the trade volume surged by over 14%, reaching an unprecedented $83.3 billion”, he said.
According to him, to protect EAEU citizens from low-quality and often dangerous products, it is necessary to strengthen joint interstate work in various areas of state control: licensing, supervision, technical regulation and protection of intellectual property rights.
