The interdepartmental commission of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on security in the economic and social sphere held a meeting, the main topic of which was control over the production and distribution of domestic vaccines. In addition, the participants discussed possible measures to support the production of domestic preventive drugs, according to the Security Council website.
“Emphasis was placed on the issues of providing the Russian Federation with domestically produced vaccines, their support and promotion, as well as strengthening control over vaccines, including pharmaceutical substances for their production, supplied from abroad,” the message clarifies.
In addition, during the meeting, issues of neutralizing risks and threats to national security in the field of immunization were studied. The introduction of a number of measures was announced aimed at “a complete and reliable supply of medical organizations with immunobiological drugs, primarily for the purpose of implementing the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations and the Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations for Epidemic Indications.”
In December 2023, we recall, an experiment was launched to introduce a system for traceability of the origin of drugs and pharmaceutical substances. With its help, it will be possible to verify the actual implementation of the stages of production of drugs and vaccines, and not just the presence of such a technological possibility.
