There will be a new facility established at the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. This site, expected to be operational by the summer of 2024, will specialize in manufacturing diagnostic systems and reagents for scientific research purposes, said Vladimir Koval, director of the institute.
For production, a laboratory and technological building will be allocated with the circulation of clean water, filtered air and the necessary equipment. Here, the production of test systems developed at the institute for screening and diagnosing cancer and respiratory diseases, the synthesis of various types of nucleic acids, as well as the production of kits for their isolation will be established.
The cost of object certification is about 3 million rubles. “We have registered the trademark “Made at the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences” and want to produce [medicines and reagents] at home. This will dramatically speed up the implementation of scientific developments in practice,” Koval said.
