Over the past five years, Roszdravnadzor has registered 35 medical products incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), 28 of which have been developed by 18 Russian innovators. Deputy Minister of Health Pavel Pugachev made this announcement during the round table discussion at the Federation Council focusing on “Legal regulation of the functioning of artificial intelligence systems in the Russian Federation: legislative development vector.”
“If at the beginning of 2019 we did not have a single registered medical product [with AI], then today we already have 35 of them, and 8 medical products were registered only in the first half of this year,” he said, adding, that these developments are used to analyze pharmacological therapy, electronic cardiograms, as well as to detect cancer and analyze electronic medical record data.
