In a recent meeting of the State Commission for Combating the Illegal Circulation of Industrial Products, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov directed Rospotrebnadzor to establish key indicators for detecting violations of mandatory regulations governing state control of dietary supplements and food additives, including complex formulations. The relevant departments were tasked with exploring the potential implementation of state control over food additives through a system of state registration. Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was directed to evaluate the practicality of instituting mandatory labeling for sports nutrition products.
The government noted that the use of risk indicators in state control has proven itself to be an effective way to combat illegal product circulation. This method allows for unscheduled inspections to be carried out in the presence of signals of possible violations. In early August 2024, Rospotrebnadzor proposed to include risk indicators for participants in the circulation of dietary supplements in its order, but no adjustments were made.
