Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has enacted a government decree allowing medical facilities in rural areas without pharmacies to engage in the retail sale of medications. Now these institutions will be able to obtain a license for such activities. Information about this appeared on the government website.
The document amends the Government of the Russian Federation Resolution No. 608 of June 19, 2012. This initiative aims to expand access to medications for residents in rural areas. Previously, only outpatient clinics, feldsher stations, and general medical practice departments were authorized to provide discounted medications and sell pharmaceuticals in regions lacking pharmacies.
