A new national project dedicated to the development of the bioeconomy will be launched in Russia in April 2025. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at the international forum “Bioprom-2024”.
“The rollout is set to commence next April. The government is currently in the active phase of preparing this strategic document,” he said. According to him, more than 1,000 companies engaged in the development of biotechnology are represented in Russia.
According to the results of last year, the market was estimated at approximately 300 billion rubles. As the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov noted, even a small range of biotechnology products or raw materials can cover the key needs of many industries.
