In the second quarter of 2025, a new medical complex at the Dr. Sergey Berezin Medical Institute (MIBS) will officially open in the Primorsky District of St. Petersburg, as announced by Arkady Stolpner, the Chairman of the Institute’s Board. This facility will become the second hospital center of the organization, supplementing the existing hospital in Pesochny, which is currently unable to cope with the increased flow of patients.
The project’s investment cost reached 9 billion rubles, 60% higher than initially estimated due to increased prices for materials and equipment. Financing is carried out exclusively at the expense of MIBS’s own funds.
The new medical complex with a total area of 30,000 sq. m will be able to simultaneously receive 226 patients. The institution will function as a full-cycle multidisciplinary oncology center, providing a full range of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, including the use of innovative developments in the fields of molecular genetics, therapeutics and Flash technology.
The complex will feature an educational center equipped with advanced simulation technology for training specialists in radiology and radiation therapy. According to the institute’s management, the majority of patients (80%) are citizens receiving treatment under the compulsory medical insurance program, and another 10% are medical tourism.
