The government allocated over 5 billion rubles for preferential lending to buy priority imported products. Launched in late 2022, this initiative offers affordable financing for essential foreign products. The list includes drugs containing insulin, antibiotics, various types of medical devices and other medical goods.
Funds will be distributed to credit institutions and VEB.RF to offset losses from issuing preferential loans to importers. This measure supports existing loans of about 140 billion rubles, ensuring favorable terms for borrowers.
The total amount of state support for this program in 2024 will amount to 14.6 billion rubles from the federal budget. The main goal of the funding is to stimulate the import of priority goods through the mechanism of affordable lending to enterprises. The implementation of the program and the targeted use of budget funds will be monitored by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which is ordered to submit a report on the results to the government by early February 2025.
