Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Maria Bagreeva, reported that in the first three quarters of 2024, the city’s pharmaceutical industry had a turnover of 403.2 billion rubles, up 38.7% from last year. She believes this result stems from actively adopting innovative developments and modern technologies, which not only compensated for the exit of foreign manufacturers but also led to the creation of unique drugs.
“In January-September 2024, the turnover of the capital’s pharmaceutical industry grew by almost 39%, exceeding 400 billion rubles. Moscow’s share in the all-Russian volume of this industry according to the results of January-September of this year amounted to almost a third,” she noted.
Over two-thirds of Moscow’s industry turnover, totaling 275.8 billion rubles, comes from the production of medical and veterinary drugs, which has risen by 16.7% compared to last year. The production of pharmaceutical substances, accounting for the final third of turnover at 127.3 billion rubles, experienced a remarkable growth, more than doubling in size.
