Kazakhstan starts production of Sputnik V vaccine

Kazakhstan launched the first batch production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the amount of 90 thousand doses, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic Marat Shoranov.

“The following vaccines are expected to be delivered and used in Kazakhstan: in early February, the first batch of Sputnik V of Russian production in the amount of 20 thousand doses – there is an agreement with the Russian side to supply this batch by one-time import into Kazakhstan, From February 15, the Sputnik V vaccine produced by the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex will be registered – the production of the first batch in the amount of 90 thousand doses has already started, and will be available for shipment to the warehouses of a single distributor from February 26 and further to the regions”, said Shoranov at a press conference.

According to him, “until July, the volume of production at this site is planned to be increased to 2 million doses.”

“According to preliminary data, the effectiveness of this vaccine is about 92%,” added Shoranov.

On February 1, anti-COVID-19 Sputnik V vaccine (produced in Russia), will start in the republic. On February 15, a Russian vaccine produced in Karaganda pharmaceutical complex will be attached to the vaccination process.
