The Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V is registered by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Paraguay, the RDIF (Russian Direct Investment Fund) reports.

Registration was carried out as part of an accelerated procedure (emergency use authorization) without conducting additional clinical researches on the territory of the state. Due to a similar procedure, the Sputnik V vaccine was previously registered in Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine and Venezuela.

Deliveries will be provided with RDIF’s international partners in India, China, South Korea and other countries.

“The registration of the Spitnik V vaccine in Paraguay demonstrates the high interest of Latin American states in the safe and effective Russian coronavirus vaccine. We expect Sputnik V will receive approval in a number of other states in the region shortly and willingness to expand partnerships to fight the pandemic commonly”, said Kirill Dmitriev (RDIF General Director).

More than 1.5 million people have already been vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine. It showed efficiency above 90%.
