Cancer patients should use the Sputnik V vaccine with caution, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the new version of the instruction.
“Due to lack of information, vaccination may pose a risk to the following groups of patients: with autoimmune diseases (stimulation of the immune system can lead to exacerbation of the disease, especially patients with autoimmune pathology that tends to develop severe and life-threatening conditions should be treated with caution); with malignancies”, the instruction says.
The Russian Ministry of Health registered Sputnik V vaccine in August 2020. The drug was developed by Gamalea institute. This vaccine was the first in the world to prevent COVID-19. Sputnik V was created on the platform of human adenovirus vectors.
