The KoviVak all-virion vaccine, developed at the Chumakov Center, appeared in polyclinics in 18 regions, the Ministry of Education and Science reports. The first deliveries were planned to the Leningrad region, Moscow region, the Republic of Tatarstan, Stavropol Territory, Primorsky Territory.

“KoviVak” was developed by a group of young Russian scientists in the Chumakov Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia for the prevention of coronavirus infection. The vaccine is made according to the classical method and is all-irony – that is, it contains a full-fledged virus, and not part of it. Due to this, it can be effective against all known coronavirus mutations, “the press service of the department said.

Experts recommend this vaccine for people who have weak immunity, as well as those who have previously been infected with COVID-19.

“KoviVak” is produced in the form of a suspension for intramuscular administration. The intake cycle consists of two vaccinations with a difference of 14 days (for comparison, the difference between the intake of other vaccines is 21 days).

“Clinical studies have confirmed the complete safety of KoviVac and low reactogenicity. In most subjects, stable immunity was formed already on day 42 after the first vaccination, “the Ministry of Education and Science emphasizes.

The list of enterprises where you can deliver the vaccine is published on the website of the regional Ministry of Health. Pre-registration can be completed in your personal account on the public services portal (menu “Appointment with a doctor”).

Deliveries of KoviVak to civil circulation began on March 28, 2021. The planned production of the vaccine will be 1 million doses per month.
