A new production line has been opened at the Irkutsk Pharmasintez plant, the company said. Started on April 2, the granulation site launched the multi-tonnage production of solid dosage forms.
“A multiple increase in the volume of the line became possible due to the use of new modern equipment: two tablet presses capable of producing up to 1 million tablets per hour, a coater for 1 thousand liters and two fully automated packaging lines,” the report said.
The production capacity of the new granulation site is more than eight times higher than the similar ones launched earlier at the Irkutsk plant.
The first drug released on the line will be Merifatin (INN metformin) in the form of film-coated tablets, 500 mg, No. 60.
The drug is used in the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus. Earlier, Pharmasintez produced Merifatin only at a plant in Tyumen.
