The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has approved amendments to the instructions for the medical use of COVID-globulin. According to the statement of changes No. 4, it is now possible to use immunoglobulin from the age of 12, and not from the age of 18, as it was before. This is evidenced by the data from the State Register of Medicines of the Ministry of Health.
COVID-globulin is an antibody-based therapy for COVID-19 produced from COVID-19 convalescent plasma. It was registered by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in early April 2021. It neutralizes the virus and helps the body to overcome the disease.
It is assumed that when phases 2 and 3 of clinical trials are completed, the drug will be used to treat moderate and severe forms of the disease.
As it became known earlier, Rostec plans to produce COVID-globulin in Perm.
