Russia has extended the simplified procedure for the import and registration of medical devices that are necessary to combat coronavirus infection. The corresponding resolution was signed by Mikhail Mishustin, the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The simplified procedure makes it possible to obtain all the necessary documents for the import and use of medical products within the shortest possible timeframe. This order was adopted in connection with the spread of the coronavirus. It was supposed to remain in force until January 1, 2022. Now it is being extended for three years more.

In addition, the validity of the temporary registration certificates and permits for the use of medical devices that have already been issued is extended until January 1, 2025.

“This will prevent a shortage of various consumables and test systems, personal protective equipment, and artificial lung ventilation devices,” Mikhail Mishustin said during a meeting of the Coordinating Council for Combating the Spread of Coronavirus Infection held on December 7.

The government previously extended the simplified procedure for registering therapies for COVID-19 until January 1, 2023. This will also prevent interruptions in the supply of drugs.
