The sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia do not threaten the supply of medicines for inpatient treatment. This was stated by Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, within the framework of the project run by the All-Russian Popular Front “People’s Cause”.

“The funds for the purchase of medicines, including in the CHI system, are currently being advanced. Measures have been taken to ensure prompt shipment by wholesalers of everything that the hospital segment needs. In addition, we promptly respond to any occasional problems. No threats to inpatient drug provision currently exist or are likely to emerge in the future,” TASS quotes Glagolev as saying.

According to him, the issue of logistics of medical equipment supplies to medical institutions will be resolved in the coming months.

“The work on the issue is conducted at all levels. These are deadlines for shipment, control over logistics and at the level of cross-border deliveries. I would like to thank our colleagues from the Ministry of Transport, who, from the very beginning of the special operation, established an interdepartmental headquarters that has been working literally around the clock. They give us answers during the day and offer effective solutions for the cross-border supply of drugs and medical equipment, if any issues arise. So I think that the restructuring of logistics chains should be completed within the next few months,” he said. “Today we do not see any significant problems with the cross-border movement of medicines.”

The Deputy Minister of Health also stated that there is no shortage of disposable syringes in Russia. In addition, he mentioned that selling medicines on Avito website is a criminal offence.
