The Federal Center for Animal Health Protection subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor has registered a new vaccine against classical swine fever, Rosselkhoznadzor reports.
“In mid–August 2022, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Federal Center for Animal Health Protection” registered its new product, a dry culture vaccine against classical swine fever,” the report says.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, amid the constant intensification of pork production, a number of issues related to infections remain unresolved, and, unless specific prevention is provided, it is currently impossible to ensure safe pork production in the Russian Federation. As a result of many years of research, specialists created a drug that meets the requirements of universality, safety, and effectiveness, Rosselkhoznadzor states.
The vaccine is intended for specific prevention of classical swine fever. It forms an immune response in pigs to the causative agent of classical swine fever as early as 14 days after the first administration of the vaccine. The product is available to order in packages of 50 and 100 doses, the Rosselkhoznadzor noted.
