Roszdravnadzor instructed its territorial authority for Moscow and the Moscow region to inspect pharmacies that sell Phenazepam at inflated prices, TASS reports with reference to the press service of the agency.

Earlier, RBC reported that the cost of Phenazepam had almost doubled over the period from January to August 2022, reaching 532 rubles. The agency recalled that on September 22, 2022, the drug was included in the vital and essential drugs (VED) list, with the manufacturer’s maximum selling price being 92.26 rubles without VAT.

“Thus, even taking into account wholesale and retail margins, the price of the drug stated in the RBC request significantly exceeds the established level, which is a serious violation of the current law/ The territorial authority of Roszdravnadzor in Moscow and the Moscow Region has been instructed to conduct inspections of those pharmacies,” Roszdravnadzor said in its statement.

Earlier it was reported that in 2021, 1,427,047 packages of Phenazepam were introduced into civil circulation.
