Russia to increase production of medicines for a number of socially significant diseases

Mikhail Murashko, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation said on Monday, October 17, at the All-Russian conference PharmMed Circulation, that the volume of production of medicines for some socially significant diseases in Russia will increase.

“The issue of increasing the production of medicines has been resolved for a number of socially significant diseases,” TASS quotes Murashko as saying.

According to the Minister, one of the effective mechanisms for countering illicit trafficking is the introduction of a system for monitoring the circulation of medicines.

“The system also allows for monitoring and forecasting drug shortage in medical and pharmacy organizations, as well as preventing it, to provide of uninterrupted drug supply,” the minister added.

Mikhail Murashko recalled that Russian customers can use Chestny Znak, a free mobile application one can use to check the legality of the purchased drug and get the latest version of the instructions for its use. If necessary, users can also report the detected violation.

Roszdravnadzor reported at the conference that drug prices in the Russian Federation have returned to the level of 2021, and the Ministry of Health stated that not a single pharmaceutical company has left the market over the past eight months.
