During the meeting, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) approved the Recommendation on the list of medicines and pharmaceutical substances for medical use, the production of which is proposed to be organized in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until 2024. This was reported in the press service of the EEC.
The final version of the document has not been published yet. In November, a draft document was submitted for public discussion.
“Taking into account the current harsh economic realities, we expect that this list will become the starting point for ensuring the drug safety of the Union,” said Artak Kamalyan, the Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC.
The document was developed by the EEC industrial unit together with the authorized agencies of the Union countries in order to implement the action plan to increase the provision of the EAEU states with strategically important medicines and pharmaceutical substances for medical use (the plan was approved by the heads of government of the member states in November 2021).
“In addition to forming a list, the plan includes working on organizing joint production of vaccines, preparing proposals for financing cooperative projects in the production of medicines and pharmaceutical substances, developing the customs and tariff regulation measures, and a number of other activities,” the press service of the EEC added.
