The Government of the Russian Federation has allocated funds for the procurement of a drug for acute leukemia in children. This was reported in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“More than 122.6 million rubles will be allocated for the purchase of Oncaspar, a therapy for acute leukemia in children. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The money, provided from the government’s reserve fund, will be used to purchase at least a thousand vials of the medicine in 2022,” the report says.
Oncaspar (pegaspargase) is produced in France, and no Russian-made analogues are available. The drug will be procured in a centralized procedure by the Federal Center for Planning and Organization of Drug Provision for Citizens, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Health of Russia. All medicines must be delivered to medical institutions by the end of the year.
“The Ministry of Health, in turn, was instructed to determine the quantities of drug supplies to medical organizations, monitor the efficiency of federal funds spending, and report the results to the government,” the press service added.
