SberZdoroviye launched sales of a smart blood pressure monitor under its own brand, Forbes reported. The package includes a three-month subscription for remote medical supervision. This is the company’s first product on the medical devices market.
The blood pressure monitor is synchronized with a smartphone, which transmits the blood pressure data to the Sberbank Health application, where it can be seen by the patient and a cardiologist, who can provide consultancy, adjust treatment, or call an ambulance. The price of the device starts from 2,490 rubles. The blood pressure monitor is now available through online marketplaces, and there are plans to sell it in SberBank branches and other outlets.
SberZdoroviye plans to localize the production of the device, which is currently made in China, and manufacture other types of equipment in the future. Sber currently provides warranty service independently, and later it will open centers for devices repairing and checking, the company explains.
Licensing medical devices with the possibility of data transmission and remote medical consultations on the Russian market is difficult, as Alexander Pilipchuk, Director for Digital Transformation of MEDSI Group, told the publication. Due to its scale and influence, Sber can provide registration certificates for entire classes of devices and boost their popularity, he believes.
In 2017, Sber bought DocDoc telemedicine service and renamed it SberZdoroviye.
