In Russia, 12 projects for the production of pharmaceutical substances are awaiting approval and financial support through the mechanism of the cluster investment platform. The total cost of their implementation is 80 billion rubles, said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
He also specified that, according to the projects, the production of 150 pharmaceutical substances will be launched in the country. “These are complex initiatives that include the selection and synthesis of molecules, the development of production technologies and the organization of serial production of thousands of tons of pharmaceutical substances per year,” he said.
There are currently about 100 Russian companies that produce pharmaceutical substances. In 2023, according to Manturov, it is planned that about 10% more drugs from the VED list will be produced with domestically made substances.
The official informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about that during a videoconference dedicated to the opening of three large pharmaceutical plants in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, and Saransk. Putin, in turn, described the new benefits that drug manufacturers will have.
