Mosmedpark, Moscow’s research and innovation site for the development of medical technologies and pharmaceuticals, has received the status of a technopark, which makes it possible for companies to receive benefits on income tax, land tax and property tax, and also makes them eligible for a reduction of rent in respect of the lands they use. These benefits provide a total reduction of the tax burden by up to 25%, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog.
Mosmedpark is located in Pechatniki district and specializes in the provision of innovative infrastructure and services for pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of medical devices, making it possible to establish a full cycle of production. The technopark now includes 33 companies. Mosmedpark’s key residents include OOO GEM (produces consumables for laboratories), OOO Amplitek (developer and manufacturer of laboratory reagent kits), and OOO Sistema-Biotech (a full-cycle biotechnological laboratory).
Until 2025, 300 million rubles will be invested in the development of the technopark, which includes repair of buildings and premises, modernization of engineering infrastructure, and landscaping and public amenities on the site.
At the end of 2022, the Moscow authorities announced plans to build a pharmaceutical technopark in the Northern district, which will include a single center for strategic and operational planning of production activities, as well as units responsible for studying the prospects for the production of innovative medicines.
