Russia is launching nation-wide vaccination against measles in April 2023. By the end of the year, Natsimbio holding (part of Rostec) will supply 800,000 doses of monocomponent vaccine produced by NPO Microgen to the regions of the Russian Federation for the vaccination campaign, the press service of the state corporation reports.

“Deliveries will be provided upon the request of the regions. More than 4 million doses of measles vaccines will be sent to the regions during 2023 for routine vaccination according to the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations,” Rostec’s press service said.

It is planned to vaccinate those categories of the population who have not received their shot under routine immunization, in order to form collective immunity and prevent  major outbreaks of the infection. Special attention will be paid to unvaccinated people arriving in Russia from neighboring countries.

The clean-up immunization against measles in the country was started based on the order of the country’s chief sanitary doctor.
