The Federal Bailiff Service reported a twofold increase in the number of proceedings for the provision of free medicines last year. A total of 4,300 enforcement proceedings had place in 2022.

“Medicines were provided free of charge in 4,300 cases,” the Federal Bailiff Service stated. A year earlier, it was reported that 2,200 cases resulted in provision of free medicines and medical services to citizens in 2021.

Enforcement proceedings on the provision of medicines to citizens are classified as socially significant, as well as proceedings on the collection of alimony, salary and social benefits in arrears,  and the Bailiff Service controls the execution of the resulting orders in order of priority. In cases of non-fulfillment of the requirements of executive documents on providing citizens with medicines free of charge, bailiffs bring government officials, state and municipal employees, as well as employees of commercial or other organizations to responsibility under Article 17.15 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation and Article 315 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (non-compliance with the court order).
