Pharmaceutical companies in St. Petersburg, Russia, have achieved an impressive 33% increase in the volume of medicine and pharmaceutical ingredients production in 2022, all while decreasing production time by a remarkable 24%. According to the city administration’s press service, the economic impact is estimated at 93 million rubles.
The impressive results obtained in St. Petersburg can be credited to the government’s successful adoption of lean manufacturing technologies, which prompted a complete overhaul of production methods.
According to Alexander Beglov, the governor of the city, the program “Productivity” is playing a crucial role in improving the accessibility of medicines for all citizens and ensuring drug stability, particularly in light of the departure of foreign pharmaceutical companies.
