According to Denis Manturov, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, the industry requires government help to tackle present obstacles, facilitate growth and progress. Prosthetic and orthopedic products are produced by approximately 50 specialized manufacturers in Russia now. In the last five years, they have successfully incorporated more than 300 distinct technological solutions to cater to the requirements of individuals with disabilities.

“Our primary objective is to swiftly transition from producing limited quantities to large-scale production in order to triumph over the prevalence of foreign materials and components”, Manturov emphasized that mastering the production of biocompatible silicone and gear motors is crucial in order to produce a wide range of innovative modules. “Currently, we are already manufacturing these modules”, he added.

Furthermore, he stated that this brand-new information and analytical center has been established at the Institute of Medical Materials under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. He believes that the center’s unparalleled emphasis on comprehending and satisfying market needs has enabled it to cater to the prosthetic industry with exceptional proficiency. “Our main focus is to offer assistance in these specific areas. According to the center’s principle, the capacity of production must be determined by a clear understanding of the required products’ quantity and variety,” he explained.
