The proposed bill on administrative penalties for driving under the influence of drugs has received the support of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection. It concerns the use of medications that decrease focus or reaction time. The list of drugs will be determined by the government.

If a driver is found to have substances of illegal drugs in their body during an intoxication test, they will face a driving ban of 1.5-2 years and a fine of 30,000 rubles. The government is set to compile a register of such medications. It is highly probable that the register will include anesthetics, antiepileptic drugs, sleeping pills, sedatives, and other similar medications.
