The Coordinating Center for Oncology of the FMBA of Russia was successfully launched in April 2023, in accordance with the project plan. The team consisted of four oncologists, two pathologists, and a meteorologist, all from different fields, working together. The center organizes consultations where doctors from different regions can join the discussion. Patients can participate in these consultations either in person or remotely. Additionally, if needed, the center can involve other highly specialized specialists.

The center aims to enhance early detection of malignant neoplasms, aiming for a 62% success rate. Additionally, it is dedicated to ensuring that all patients are referred to specialized regional and federal oncology centers within a week. Moreover, the center is committed to providing medical consultations for patients who have recently been diagnosed with oncological diseases.

In order to enhance the accessibility of medical care, two training sessions focusing on cancer awareness were created exclusively for primary care physicians. In these sessions, physicians will not only conduct a thorough assessment of different cancer risk categories, but also strive to acquire the essential knowledge and skills necessary for providing superior healthcare services to their patients.
