According to the website of Prosecutor General’s Office, if any signs of consumer deception by manufacturers, suppliers, or sellers of products are detected, the department will promptly respond to ensure appropriate action is taken. It is clarified that the state of legality in the pricing of essential goods and medicines is under special control of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
“Concealing trustworthy information about a product from the public and misleading them regarding its true value has the power to ignite social tension. In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was proposed to take measures to resolve the situation, including by introducing uniform requirements for the packaging of goods, ” the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.
