The Russian Prime Minister has directed the ministries to strategize a plan for the advancement of the prosthetic market in Russia.

Prime Minister of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin, has issued a directive to ministries and departments to carefully consider and develop proposals put forth by the members of the Federation Council. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Health, and Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor) must submit their suggestions to the government by November. These ideas must focus on the development of Russian market of raw materials and components for the production of prosthetic and orthopedic products used in rehabilitation.

In January, Vladimir Putin ordered the government to explore the possibilities of establishing in Russia “the manufacturing of prosthetics, their components, and the necessary raw materials.”
