Russian doctors expect a rise in the incidence of COVID-19

According to a recent survey, a significant majority (59%) of medical professionals in Russia express concern over the potential rise in COVID-19 cases during the upcoming autumn and winter seasons.

It is concerning that a study revealed that 45% of respondents agree that COVID-19 has taken on seasonal characteristics, more than one third of healthcare professionals believe that a resurgence of the virus could lead to increased severity among patients. Some respondents, however, are convinced that it is too early to classify COVID-19 as a seasonal disease.

Healthcare professionals working directly with patients have firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the current situation. According to the survey results, Igor Stepanyukov, the General Director of the Vrachu.ru service, emphasized the importance of considering their opinion when devising strategies to guarantee productivity amidst the worsening epidemic.
