The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation records a decrease in costs for chemotherapy drugs year-on-year. In 2023, costs decreased by 12% and chemotherapy courses increased, as stated by Mikhail Murashko, head of the ministry.
During a speech at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, he revealed that the centralized purchase of medicines by federal institutions has actually led to a remarkable 12% reduction in the cost of chemotherapy drugs, including the expensive ones.
He emphasized that during the period from 2018, there was a significant improvement in the data, so they highlighted a 14% reduction in one-year mortality and a 7% increase in five-year survival rates.
