In the first eight months of 2023, the commercial pharmaceutical market and drug shipments in the government segment reached a staggering volume of 5.28 billion packages. In total, drugs, dietary supplements, medical products and other assortment were sold in the amount of 1,701 billion rubles. This is 1% more in kind and 1% less in monetary terms than in the same period last year. This was announced by the CEO of AlphaRM, Anna Ermolaeva, at the XV International Conference “What is happening in the pharmaceutical market?”
The share of the retail segment in the overall sales structure continues to grow, while government purchases continue to decline. Now about 64% of drugs are purchased with the money of the consumer, not the state, according to the company’s analytics.
Among various segments of the pharmacy market, there is a recovery in demand for prescription drugs. This is due to the complete consumption of the stock that was created by buyers in the first half of last year.
