The Ministry of Agriculture (Minselkhoz) has put forward a proposal to amend the federal scientific and technical program for agricultural development, which is scheduled to take place from 2017 to 2030. The department specifically suggested providing an extra subsidy of 1.565 billion rubles to support the advancement and manufacturing of veterinary medications.
The authors of the document believe that additional funding will reduce the level of import dependence on the Russian market of immunobiological drugs and form a sustainable system of national biological safety.
Particular attention will be paid to the development and production of vaccines. By 2030, the goal is for 30% of the registered veterinary products needed by Russian agricultural producers to be produced using new domestic technologies.
