The Hungarian company Gedeon Richter is releasing three generic drugs for type 2 diabetes into the Russian market. MSD and Novartis, the original drug manufacturers, have restricted their operations in Russia.
The drugs “Citadiab” with the active ingredient “sitagliptin” (the original drug “Januvia” from MSD), “Agarta” with the active substance “vildagliptin” (the original drug “Galvus” from Novartis) and “Agarta Met” with the combination “vildagliptin” “and “metformin hydrochloride” (the original drug “Galvus Met” from Novartis), intended to normalize blood glucose levels without the risk of hypoglycemia and weight gain. Gedeon Richter said that deliveries of drug analogues to Russia have already begun.
