The Miratorg agro-industrial holding has built a plant for the production of gelatin for the food and pharmaceutical industries in the Kursk region. The enterprise is designed to produce about 6 thousand tons of products per year – this capacity is planned to be achieved by 2025. This is half of the needs of the Russian market, the press service of the regional government said.

The facility is located in the village of Chernitsyno, Kursk region, thanks to which 100 jobs have been created in the region. Work on its construction began in 2021; 4.4 billion rubles were invested in the project. The enterprise will provide about 420 million rubles a year in additional tax contributions to the regional budget after production reaches full capacity.

It is noted that only domestic raw materials will be used for the production of gelatin. “This is the only gelatin plant in the country; it has no analogues in the CIS and neighboring countries in terms of the depth of processing, the level of automation and the use of the latest developments in technology and equipment,” the message quotes a representative of Miratorg.

The products can be used in the confectionery, dairy and pharmaceutical industries. Previously, the main suppliers of gelatin to the country were Brazil, China, EU and CIS countries.
