An experiment was carried out in the Republic of Buryatia to transport medicines via a drone from the regional center to the distant village of Khasurta. According to the government’s press service in the Russian Federation’s constituent entity, the pilot was successful, although not without some errors. The press service did not specify exactly what difficulties the project organizers encountered.
The Aerocom company’s “Burya-10” unmanned aircraft successfully completed a round trip of over 200 km from Ulan-Ude to the village of Khasurta. Medicines are delivered to their destination. Aerokom director Viktor Yankov has announced that several additional experimental launches are planned to test the device’s frost resistance and its ability to withstand strong winds.
The “Burya-10” takes off and lands vertically using four electric motors. The maximum speed of the device is 130 km/h, load capacity is up to 6 kg. The Ministry of Health of Buryatia intends to cooperate with the company and use drones “as part of the activities of the disaster medicine service.”
