The capital authorities have recently revealed an initiative to boost the Moscow budget by providing state-of-the-art sensors and transducers for continuous glucose monitoring to individuals with diabetes. Moscow’s Vice-Mayor, Anastasia Rakova, highlighted that the city is meticulously expanding various specialized programs.

According to her, the 2022 program to support children with type 1 diabetes has expanded, allowing more patients to access essential medical supplies. “In 2023, we purchased more than 116 thousand sensors for continuous glucose monitoring. Today, almost 5,000 children and adolescents under 18 years of age received free special medical products totaling more than 458 million rubles,” she said.

Such devices are used for painless round-the-clock glucose monitoring. The sensor operates continuously using subcutaneous sensors, eliminating the need for regular punctures to measure glucose levels.
