The State Duma is concerned about the problem of car owners taking medications that can affect their well-being and potentially be a catalyst for an accident. According to deputy Sultan Khamzaev, there should be a special warning on the packaging of such drugs. He sent a proposal to introduce additional markings to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, writes RT.

Taking medications such as antidepressants, tranquilizers, antipsychotics and others is not recommended while driving. However, many people simply don’t know exactly how each drug works in the body and that its effects can impair coordination, cause drowsiness, or affect clarity of vision.

“I ask you to consider introducing special labeling for packaging of medical drugs: placing a warning on a red background if driving a vehicle is prohibited after taking this medicine, a warning on an orange or yellow background if driving a vehicle after taking the medicine is not recommended due to possible individual side effects effects,” asks Khamzaev.
