By spring 2024, Pharmasyntez-Tyumen, a part of the Pharmasyntez Group of Companies, will be initiating the production of over 30 INN hormonal drugs in different dosages and forms. This information was reported by the press service of the Tyumen Regional Government Administration, specifying that the production volume is estimated at five million packages per year.
The volume of investment in production is 4.5 billion rubles. The plant will create 485 jobs. In October 2023, Pharmasyntez-Tyumen LLC launched the initial shipment of PlaniZhens Chlo, an ovulation-suppressing contraceptive that had been registered earlier that spring, into the public market. Now the company’s line of combined contraceptives includes 12 drugs.
“For a long period, the market for hormonal drugs in Russia was represented mainly by foreign manufacturers. Realizing the importance of import substitution <…> our company is actively developing its own production of hormonal drugs, including contraceptives,” Vladimir Kisilenko, General Director of Pharmasyntez-Tyumen LLC, said then.
And already in November 2023, the company announced its readiness to cover 100% of the Russian market’s demand for hormonal drugs. This will be achieved, among other things, thanks to an investment of 5 billion rubles, which strengthened production sites at the Pharmasyntez-Tyumen plant.
