The Serbian and Russian Health Ministers, Danica Grujicic and Mikhail Murashko signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to reinforce relations between the two health care systems and allow new forms of cooperation. “This is a humanitarian mission, it is aimed at developing health technologies aimed specifically at increasing people’s life expectancy and maintaining health,” Murashko told reporters.
He emphasized that the COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the importance of communication between countries to combat a common problem. The key task is to work together to improve the sustainability of healthcare systems, create new medicines and ensure their availability, the minister added.
“Medicines are supplied to Russia from Serbia. And today Russia, among other things, offers assistance in drug therapy and medical products to our colleagues from Serbia. It is the development of science, practice and clinical medicine that is a key component of our memorandum. Areas in the field of oncology, childhood, cardiology are priority areas,” Murashko said. He emphasized that medical education is the most promising area of cooperation between Russia and Serbia.
