Previously, Russian media said that there is a medicine shortage in Russia. However, the Russian Ministry of Health denied the information. On the contrary, according to the Ministry, the situation on the domestic pharmaceutical market is stable.
“The situation on the Russian pharmaceutical market remains stable. <…> There are no defects in medical products that would affect the quality of medical care,” the ministry reported.
According to the Ministry of Health, in 2023, 6 billion packages of medicines were released into civilian circulation, of which 4 billion were produced in Russia (69.4%). As of March 11, the regions of the Russian Federation are provided with drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs for a period of more than 8 months in advance, the press service of the ministry explained.
